DeMolay Open House December 15, 2024

Our first Open House was held on December 15, 2024. The following notes are a copy of the Minutes as recorded by Raoul.

Meeting Discussions
- Guests consisting of potential DeMolay youth candidates, parents, senior advisors and members of Job’s daughter are in attendance.
- Chris and Norman presented a PowerPoint presentation about the International Order of DeMolay.
- Chris discussed the history of DeMolay, duties and roles of DeMolay Youth, the advantage of becoming a DeMolay and the role of senior advisors. - Introduction to the 7 Cardinal Virtues was also discussed.
- As for the dress code, the advisors advised the youth candidates to wear suits and ties at future regular meetings.
- Robes of DeMolay according to rank was also discussed.
- Members of Job’s Daughter did a quick presentation and invited any interested young ladies on joining.
- Job’s Daughter in saskatoon meet every 1st Saturday and 3rd Friday of the month. - Guests were invited inside the lodge room to have an idea on how the lodge room will look like once the chapter has been established.
Round Table Discussions
- To clarify the number of required number of members to be able to open a chapter. - Anyone between the age of 12-21 can be a DeMolay regardless of any Masonic affiliation.
- The potential of having two DeMolay meetings within a month was discussed. - The members of Job’s Daughter invited everyone to join their installation of officers on January 5th at 2pm.

We had 31 people present: 7 DeMolay candidates, 8 Job's Daughters and the rest were parents, a few Masonic Lodge members and Chris's mom, Thea.

 The workshop was well attended and filled with activities. It was an excellent time for the Alberta Chapters and the Saskatchewan Chapter to spend time together and have some fun. The main hall. Upon entering the hall we were greeted by the hoodie distribution team.  The resident Camp Manager instructed everyone about rules and procedures (how to flush the toilets) during our stay at Camp Warwa. A football game ensued shortly after they claimed their bunks.   On Saturday, Flannery provided instruction for some Jiu jitsu. She practices "no gi" Jiu jitsu.
