DeMolay Meeting February 15, 2026

 A business meeting was held in the Chapter room from 2:30 PM to 3:40 PM.

DeMolay Present:

Raphaël, Theodore, Mason, Chael, Sebastian and Alexandre.

Treasurer's report provided by Chris Howe.

Minutes from January 18, 2026 meeting were read by scribe Sebastian.

Chael reported on DeMolay having attended the Job's installation on January 4, 2026.

Chris advised that thank you cards should be sent to Victory Lodge #144, Asquith Harmony Lodge #75 and Ionic Lodge #31 for their monetary donations to DeMolay. Alexandre will attend the Victory Lodge meeting on Saturday March 14 to deliver the thank you in  person. He will invite them to attend the Initiatory degree later that evening.

Discussion on future social event: bowling with Job's Daughters. No firm plans were made for this event.

Discussion on fundraising:

-Chael has an idea for renting out books as a fundraiser. Chris advised him to bring a detailed proposal to the next meeting.

-Chris provided an explanation about DeMolay's responsibilities to the Shrine Club with respect to cashing in on the Shrine Club recycle cans and bottles. The cans and bottles must be removed from the Shrine Club at least once a month. If the volume is higher than usual, our Masonic Lodge members will monitor the situation and remove the cans and bottles as required.

-Mason and Alexandre will investigate the procedure to set up a DeMolay account with Sarcan. With such and account, we can simply drop off the cans and bottles at Sarcan and they will tabulate the amount owing to DeMolay and send the money to our DeMolay bank account via e-transfer.

Discussion about the Initiatory Degree planned for March 14th and 15th in Saskatoon. 

-Motion made by Alexandre that our chapter provide a pizza supper on Saturday and a pancake breakfast on Sunday for the visiting DeMolay from Alberta. Seconded by Chael. Motion carried.

-Chris proposed that we see if the Alberta degree team would prefer to perform the Initiatory degree on Saturday evening rather than Sunday morning. Norman will contact Alberta DeMolay to find out what they prefer.

Discussion about our next meeting on Sunday, March 1st 2026. Norman will confirm the availability of the amenities room at his condo.
