Zoom Planning Meeting Minutes
Thursday, April 24th, 2025 @ 7:00pm
Attendees: Norman Tarasoff, Jeff Young, Chris Howe & Deanna Henschel
Treasurer’s report from Jeff advised that $xxxxx is the current balance of funds available.
To date, approximately $xxxx in donations have been received. There are two more that Chris will be picking up that total around $xxxx.
Innovation Credit Union has all required information for establishing the bank account and it will take some time for them to prepare necessary documents. Norman will follow up on Monday if we have not heard anything by then. The bank is to contact each of us individually when documents are ready.
For the Sunday, May 4th social event Norman has invited 3 families, 2 of which are confirmed. Jeff has contacted one family. Chris has reached out to two families, one of which is unable to attend. He will follow up with the other family. There may be some other prospective families from the various Lodges. We are hopeful that this event will result in at least one new member as we require 7 members to operate the Chapter.
This event will be important to keep the current DeMolay members in touch and continue to build a bond and connections.
Deanna will bring giant Connect 4 and a couple board games. Chris will bring Frisbee & spike ball.
Food items to be provided will be drinks and snacks. Raoul will bring donuts. Deanna will bring sausage, cheese & crackers. Chris will bring chips, pop & ice cream treats. We can make coffee with the supplies available at the lodge.
Chris & Raoul will speak briefly about DeMolay for the prospective members and their parents. The DeMolay members will do the majority of the speaking about their experiences so far as well as their weekend at workshop in Alberta and what they are looking forward to as DeMolay members. Norman will bring his screen to display videos and pictures from the workshop weekend.
The members will have the opportunity to prove up at this event if they are ready to do so.
Job’s Daughters could be invited to the event. They have an installation event on June 1st at 2:00pm that DeMolay members should plan to attend. Jeff will provide the invitation and details.
Chris inquired if Mason would be able to speak at the Royal Arch grand convocation on Friday, May 30th.
We will try to have a few DeMolay members attend the Grand Lodge gathering on Friday, June 20th.
New member fees could be waived for the remainder of the calendar year and then be established at $100 in January 2026. Fees should not be charged until a member is initiated. We could ask Kevin for guidance on this matter.
The ADA convention in Camrose taking place November 14th, 15th & 16th will be the next opportunity to complete any DeMolay degrees.
Next meeting to take place on May 22nd at 7:00pm on Zoom.
